Privacy Policy
WhatWhat is provided by S.I.T. Technologies Co., Ltd. This policy explains how the app handles voice recordings, text, settings, and service data.
What WhatWhat processes
- Audio you intentionally record after tapping Speak.
- Your selected output language, style, and matching personal-dictionary terms.
- Generated transcript and rewritten text.
- Text you intentionally send to the Listen feature for speech generation.
- Limited technical data needed for delivery and security, such as IP address, request ID, and error type.
Why it is processed
This data is used only to provide transcription, translation, rewriting, speech playback, abuse prevention, reliability, and support. WhatWhat does not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to track you across apps.
Where processing happens
The app sends requested audio or text over encrypted HTTPS to WhatWhat's server. The server uses OpenAI's API to perform transcription, language and style processing, and optional speech generation. OpenAI processes the data under the API services terms and data controls applicable to WhatWhat's account.
Storage and deletion
WhatWhat's application server processes audio and text in memory and does not intentionally store the content in its database or application logs. Temporary audio on your device is deleted after successful processing or cancellation. A failed recording may remain locally for Retry and is removed automatically when it becomes more than one hour old. Temporary audio is protected by iOS data protection and excluded from device backups.
Infrastructure providers may retain limited security and operational logs. Provider retention is governed by their service configuration and applicable terms.
On-device settings
Preferences, conversation presets, and your personal dictionary are stored in WhatWhat's shared app container so the app and keyboard can work together. Dictionary terms are sent only with a dictation request to improve matching.
Your controls
You can stop Voice Access, revoke microphone or keyboard permissions in iOS Settings, clear your dictionary and presets, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its local data subject to normal iOS backup behavior.
Children and changes
WhatWhat is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change and will publish the new effective date here.
